Towards conceptualising failure in mathematics as an autobiographical experience

Studies have shown that failure experiences play a role in pre-service teachers’ development. Given autobiographical are foundation of learning and is wide-spread experience, particularly mathematics, we need further insight into what kind experience actually is. This paper draws on 59 written order to map them out provide counts as from the perspective future teachers is, mathematics elementary school teachers. The findings, alongside earlier research negative experiences, form basis for conceptualising an distinguishing it experience.
